Kids learn most things from their parents right? I was a nosey child, so I would listen to my mom's conversations, and I learned a lot! Maybe more than I needed to know, but it's ok! But could what adults talk about influence a child's wrong doings in the future? What am I talking about, you may ask. Okay, so as I was driving home tonight I was listening to the radio and tonight was "Talk Tuesdays". The question for tonight was "could sex lead up to love", my face dropped, I was so shocked that that would even be considered a question on the radio. Needless to say I changed the station before I even heard the responses of local listeners. I could only imagine the ignorance that some adults would respond to that question. But all this ties into my question before, could what adults talk about influence a child's wrong doings in the future? Scenario: suppose you are a ten year old and didn't know anything about sex, but you overheard your mother talking about how sex and making the statements about how sex should come before love, and how a man’s performance in the bed, is a determinate of how he will treat you in a relationship (sounds crazy but I heard it from an adult before). As a child little things stick in your mind. So you're older now, and have learned what sex is, wouldn't you begin to believe that sex should come before love, because THAT’S WHAT YOUR MOTHER ONCE SAID? So parents need to understand that, they have a huge influnce on how their child grows up by not only their actions and what they teach them, but also what they say when they think their child is not listening. Remember, all kids are nosey in their own way!
