According to Adfreak, "McCann Erickson is rolling out a new spot for Dentyne that compares gum with condoms."

Using the tagline "Practice safe breath," the commercial shows a trio of men in need of protection from halitosis, lest it inhibit freaky time. One is about to get into it was a comely blonde in the backseat, another is nervously buying protection in a drugstore, and a third wakes his roommate late at night because he's got a guest.

So, what are your thoughts?

Too Much or just enough?

Thanks for sharing this!  My gut reaction is that I kind of like this campaign.  While is is silly and maybe a little over the top, it maneges to use sex to sell without degrading people or relying on stereotypes.

I agree with Dan. When most other advertisments use sex/sexuality, they don't do it nearly as well, as fun, or as respectively.

I like this. I don't think it's too much. In a way, it's advertising two things at once: the gum, and safe sex. I say, kudos to Dentyne.
