The Texas Freedom Network Student Chapter of the University of Texas at Austin will be co-hosting an sex education rally with the Texas Youth Leadership Council tomorrow, February 18.
Our goal is to give a voice to students on campus who support comprehensive sex education. We will be getting Education Works petition signatures, recording students' stories about sex education, asking students to write their stories and hang them up on our "Wall of Shame", or take pictures with pro-comprehensive sex education signs.
Texas has one of the highest teen birth rates in the country, the highest repeat teen birth rate in the country, and extremely high risk behaviors when compared with other states. We are also the top state in accepting abstinence-only sex education money. Obviously it isn't working.
Stand up for change, responsible sex education, and tell your story!
When: 2/18 (Tomorrow) 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
What: Petitions, posters contraceptives and videos - RALLY!
Who: YOU, TFN Student Chapter Members and the Texas Youth Leadership Council
Why: Abstinence-only sex-ed has failed Texas youth and its time to demand change!
Where: West mall Rally Area at the University of Texas
