For several months, Seventeen magazine has been promoting their Body-Peace Project. Under the petition for people to sign, it says for us to promise to love ourselves. All of ourselves, regardless of how much we weigh, or the size of our nose. It tells us to not harass ourselves over eating an extra slice of pizza, and to remember that we're "Beautiful just the way we are."
But how can Seventeen honestly tell us that they believe we're all beautiful, regardless of size or shape? In every issue, there is literally a 20/1 ratio of size 0's or 2's to the 'Curvy,' girls only pictured in the 'Dress your Body,' section. Additionally, there's such a wide variety of girls under each shape, and there's only one size shown in the pictures. I'll tell you now that I'm what you'd consider curvy. I'm a size 8 or 10, I have a D-cup, and I'm 5'8". Their 'curvy,' is usually about a size 14.
If you really want girls to find their 'Body Peace,' write with me to Seventeen from:

Tell them what goal it is you want them to acheive.
For me, I want to see a wide variety of girls, and I want to see girls that aren't your perfect-face type. I want to see real teenage girls, and I want to see these changes in the near future.
It's 2010. Let's stop descriminating against girls who don't look perfect, and find our inner peace.
