Carl's Jr. relentless assault on us with horribly sexist commercials has got to stop. My name is April Fronk and I have decided to take action.
Yesterday I launched an assault on Carl's Jr. in a attempt to get them to see that they were offending many women across America with the commercial
The new commercial focuses on a bikini clad girl eating a giant Carl's Jr burger.
Its extremely racy and it makes me incredibly uncomfortable. I have a 13 year old son and 12 year old daugher. I don't want my children to see it however we are held hostage by it while trying to watch our favorite shows.
I wrote Carl's Jr the following message. It is what I get back from them that is incredible!!!!
This is the official response that I got back:A petition was launched against you today by thousands of women in America who are offended and disgusted at the commercial marketing the new pineapple burger.
We as women are so offended and disgusted by the commercial that we have banded together and are refusing to visit and eat at your restaurants any more.
You are losing money because of the commercial. With this commercial you have taken your restaurant from a family restaurant down to one that is targeted directly at men. NOT at women or children.
We are so offended that some women feel uncomfortable sitting in front their own televisions in their own homes.
Many of us have children and cannot watch certain channels that the commercial has been shown on through MULTIPLE commercial breaks.
The explosion of women in opposition spread like wildfire through Facebook today.
Take it off the air, that is all we want. Put back on the cute guy with the cow. Don't offend us. You want us to feed our families at your restaurants. Shame on you! You can do better than a naked girl on a towel. Any monkey can think that up. We get it, sex sells. But it DOESN'T SELL TO US!
CKE Restaurants, Inc., owner and franchisor of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s restaurants, adopts a creative approach to our advertising. It is intended to communicate the core message of our premium quality food to our target audience of Young, Hungry Guys. We do not aim to exclude or offend any other group with our efforts, but merely to appeal and amuse a very specific audience. We understand that not everyone may view our advertising the same way and we respect all views.
Can you believe that???? Young, hungry guys!!! So if you would like to help me take up the fight then email me at afronk@msn.com.
Thanks April Fronk
Oh wait, unless you know me personally and then this is an attack to degrade what I am trying to accomplish! Shame shame...step out of the darkness and look me in the face!
