Ok so I loved Bristol Palin's Candies Foundation PSA...but, I feel she needs to have a different approach when it comes to the fight against teen pregnancy. Its easy to say "Don't have sex", but Bristol Palin already had sex and had a child. She is contradicting her words by her actions. I mean my train of thought is "well you had sex and you couldn't abstain yourself, so what makes you think that you can tell another teenager to not have sex and that they'll take you serious?" I mean seriously this whole abstainance stance she has on the issue is a joke because she couldn't do it. She also blatantly contradicted herself when she told Greta from the Fox News Channel earlier that year that abstainance was unrealistic.

I think that she needs to find a new approach to the issue and actually talk about her experience. In many interviews, Palin avoids questions about what went wrong that she ended up pregnant. I feel that she needs to share her experience so people can learn from her mistake. Also I believe that instead of ONLY ranting about abstainance, she should incorporate the use of contraceptives in order to stop the rise of teen pregnancy. I feel that both components (contraceptives and abstainance) are important in our modern day sexual ed.

It may seem like I am trying to bash Bristol Palin. Honestly, it is not my aim to bash her because I do feel that she is a good mother to her son Tripp. I just feel that she is approaching this problem in a wrong way. Tell me what you think about her whole approach to the fight against teen pregnancy. What other ways can Palin and other celebs approach the issue of teen pregnancy?
