(My Plans for tomorrow)
Today is December the 10th and I'm feeling okay
No sickness, no stress
I'm just calling in GAY
Yesterday I grocery shopped so today I'm store free
None of the stores are getting money from me
I told my boss why I'm calling in she asked "what did you say"
I responded, " you heard me, I'm calling in GAY!"
"Aaliyah", she said, " I'm shocked at your double life"
"All this time I've known you, I thought you were a man's wife"
I told her I am and that gives my reason insight
To me it's not fair me and my husband have rights
But
My uncle his husband or my aunt and her wife
Have been together for longer and don't have the same rights
That's not right
And PROP 8 is a load of injustice and it is overwhelmed with hate
It serves as proof to me that there's no separation between church and state
I hope that people take advantage of this very historical day
Do not spend money, go volunteer, treat it like a holiday
If you want to call in but are set back because you don't know what to say
When you call your job repeat this line " Today, I'm calling in GAY!"
It was a cool idea though, and if I say, still worked in a congressional office, I would have.
