It's a busy night at the arena. The room is packed with people young and old alike; newbies and die-hard fans. There are 30 minutes left and people are settling down, calling out to friends seats away, folding jackets and placing them in laps. The excitement is infectious;and you can hardly hear yourself think above all the noise. The ring is illuminated by the bright lights above it and the people let out a cheer. The music starts up and the big screen tvs attached to the ceiling come alive with a colorful montage. The referee takes the microphone. "Goooodd eveninggg ladies and gents! Welcome to the Royal Rumble! Tonight in one corner we have Encouragement. Weighing in at 457lbs, Encouragement!!!" The crowd boos collectively as a heavyset man in red tights, a cape and a mask struts around the ring.'"And in the other corner, we have Responsibility, weighing in at 520lbs!!!" At that introduction, the majority of the crowd surges to its feet with a stentorian roar, drowning out the referee, while an even bigger man dressed in blue and silver tights  flexes his muscles and calls out to the crowd. The match begins! Who will win do you think?
Whenever the issue of contraception availability is raised, there are two sides to this controversial coin. There are those that feel the availability of condoms will lull people into  a false sense of security and encourage them to engage in sexual activity at a higher frequency with a greater number of  partners. For these people, the availability of  condoms and other forms of contraception will produce this response: "I don't need to worry about getting into the heat of the moment and increasing my risk for pregnancy because i'm on the pill. I can have sex whenever and wherever I want. In the bathroom, on the bus, standing in line at Starbucks..." Ok I agree the last sentence was an unneccesary hyperbole but i had to get my point across somehow.

On the other hand, some people (like me...people who use their noggins) believe that contraception offers an individual (especially females) control over his/her sexual and reproductive health. It's true that you worry less about getting pregnant ; however, there are other benefits. Contraception protects you from STDs/STIs etc. Contraception gives you the freedom to decide if and when you wish to reproduce and gives you a greater sense of well-being. There is no better feeling than the knowledge of the fact that you are in control of you life. Am I right? At the moment, all I have are generalizations and preconceived notions. Next I shall embark on a journey to discover what students at Morgan State University think about contraception. I might even provide video interviews where possible. Feel free to offer your views on contraception below this post. Don't forget to check back for the continuation of this exciting debate. Yoi ichinichi o osugoshi kudasai! (Have a nice day! I'm taking a Japanese class this semester)

This is definitely an interesting take and approach here! I like it! I am also looking forward to you sharing the perspectives of students at MSU. Thats exciting to me because I am from that area. Condoms are definitely a great contraceptive that are almost 100% effective in preventing both STIs and pregnancy.
