This is a sad day for choice!! Yesterday, in a referendum to correspond with the primary, Alaska approved Measure 2 (which provides for parental notification and consent for abortions) by a margin of just more than 10 points. Now, Alaska is moving away from "safe, legal, and rare" to now having a lot of unwanted pregnancies go through. I always thought Alaska was the more libertarian of the red states, but I was proven wrong here.
This will mean more unwanted children, more dependence on social services, and less women going to college. And this is in a state where the teaching of sex ed is dependent on the district
