This week was a crazy week. I met / ecnountered a number of people, some of which have made their mark for one reason or another, whether sensible or not.. they are:
Dec 1 - Monday - some guys at school who were overly willing to help me with giving out info about HIV/AIDS. Made me remember that no matter what you're doing, even when you think you're alone, you're not, cuz there's always at least one person willing to give a helping hand.
Dec 2 - Tuesday - a teacher at school; he started asking me lots of questions re HIV/AIDS and safe sex etc. He's a married man with his kids n stuff, but he still didnt know alot. Reminds me that its not only the youth and young people we have to target, but there are also adults who need the info we have to give.
Dec 3 - Wednesday - a female student; she got tested because of the info and stuff I gave her, and came back and told me about it. Felt great knowing i helped her that way.
Dec 4 - Thursday - my best friend; he wrote this really cool poem for me telling me how he admired my dedication to YAM and stuff like that. Was really cool.. made me realise that people notice me and the stuff I do... better be careful.. lol
Dec 5 - Friday - I'd say the son of one of the teachers at the school. He sat beside me and we talked about random stuff including AIDS, sex and other stuff. He was just interesting to talk to, even thought I had never met him before. Made me remember that though you may not know people personally, once you approach them right, you can relate to them and form a relationship in which both parties can learn and be exposed to things in ways they probably didnt think possible.
Dec 6 - Saturday - saturday had a number of them, but to name a few: 1. the guy at the health fair. He's kinda mental, and when they asked him 3 ways to prevent HIV transmission, he said, and i quote, "food, water and wind".. lol... 2. this guy on the walk-through. dont know whether I should pity him or what.. he was adamant that he was immune to AIDS and rae tae... u know that story, but not because he was too big or strong or bad, merely because he was him, and AIDS "Can't touch him"...
well, World AIDS week was interesting..
For now, bye bye World AIDS Day Blog-a-thon. cya nex yr i guess...
