I would have not believe my ears if I was told that stigma and discrimination is at a level in which people are been sent out of their home by their parent or being the denied their right by the society, even being out cast from the beauties of live due to the fact that he/she is a living positive. I went for the red card campaign to Adamawa and Taraba for the campaign, I could not believe my eyes and ears that to persuade young people to sign the post cards was not only a sacred thing they will do but as if they are going to sign their death warrant. It baffles me to know even most of the people who call themselves nurses and doctors could not live up sign the post card.
That was not only the thing but also the numbers of NGOs in the zone was only 2 NGOs who are merely active, apart from that I tried to also persuade student from different institutions in these areas, but neither the student nor the teachers could even stand out for these people in their absence. I stated wondering if the doctors and teachers are really what they appeared to be , but when I got to a certain area I found out that these areas I have been were not really the area I was supposes to be, because the people I saw there are more informed than the other part of the states, after series of sitting with them I tried to convince them to o out and spray the word in town and let people know but with all effort the people could not believe the mission of the RED card campaign. For the rest of the days I stayed two were for the campaign and the rest were for awareness.
One thing I know is that I have made my own share in making t a change and will always be doing that, what of you? Let’s change the world, play your part in the society today and live a legacy!!
