We all know that the TV ads of Carl's Jr. and Hardee's are sexist and tasteless, but their current campaign has seriously crossed the line.
In conjunction with their new ad featuring nothing but a girl in a bikini eating a sloppy burger, they have announced a new campaign called "Hot Chicks Eating Burgers". Carl's Jr. and Hardee's are seeking video submissions from scantly clad "hot chicks" eating burgers, so they can use them in advertisements.
In their video to promote the contest, a bikini-clad girl eats and burger while she shakes her hips and slowly sucks on her fingers.
It's one thing to put famous models and actresses in your commercials, but to actually seek out the exploitation and degradation of young women around the country for the benefit of your new burger? This is the kind of tactic that you would expect from "Girls Gone Wild" or a porn company, not a national fast-food chain.
You might ask: how could such a misogynyst advertising plan ever see the light of day? Well, let's take a look at the management team of CKE Restaurants, the company that runs Carl's Jr. and Hardee's:
Notice anything similar about them? Yea, me too. These are the white men who'll be going through all of the videos of young women wearing next to nothing, rubbing burgers all over themselves in order to be famous. Creepy and disgusting, no?
Young women already have to deal with too much misogyny in today's society, and they don't need the men who run Carl's Jr. and Hardee's acting like sleazy porn hustlers or Joe Francis.
I urge you to send this email out to the upper management of CKE Restaurants and tell them that they need to discontinue this campaign immediately.
They are free to choose how they run their company, but they should know that if their business model is based on the degradation and exploitation of young women, we certainly won't buy their products. And I'm sure we're not alone.
I propose that women send in videos denouncing this campaign...
My name is April Fronk and I am launching a fight against Carls Jr. for its recent commercial on TV showing a very sexy bikini clad model eating a burger. I was so disgusted because of it and I found out that there were tons of other women who felt the same way. When I wrote Carls Jr. telling them that we would no longer eat in their restaurants if they did not remove the commercial their response to me was.
"CKE Restaurants, Inc., owner and franchisor of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s restaurants, adopts a creative approach to our advertising. It is intended to communicate the core message of our premium quality food to our target audience of Young, Hungry Guys. We do not aim to exclude or offend any other group with our efforts, but merely to appeal and amuse a very specific audience. We understand that not everyone may view our advertising the same way and we respect all views."
So they proved my point that women and children are not included. We are not invited. I am writing you now to help let our voices be heard!

Thanks so much!
Hope you don't mind
The website is full of guys who love this stuff
Maybe they can see the truth behind these ads after they see the insanity behind it all
Thanks so much!

Thanks Amplify for your work on this issue and for giving us an avenue to let our voices be heard. For those who are looking for another avenue to make a statement, please join the Facebook group called Boycott Carl's Jr.
The girls who whore themselves out do so for a feeling of power and for the money. They get off on exhibiting their sexuality in such a blatant way. Males who claim "jealousy" use that term out of ignorance and stupidity. It's about power, not jealousy. It's about respect and dignity and not standing for perpetual abuse. Women and girls are victims of violent acts far more often than males - the idea is to keep us "weak" and silence us by claiming we're jealous prudes.
This is growing and getting worse as they continue to push the boundaries.
We need to boycott and we need to educate the clients who continue to eat there.
Arrange protests, had out fliers, hold up posters, call the media and widespread attention. Prepare for the name-calling that will try to belittle and humiliate. Stand strong and send a clear message.
It's not about sex sells.
When they claim "creativity" it's BS. Humor is creative, the unexpected is creative, this is based on an easy low - go straight for the jugular with flat out sexism and degradation.. When they claim not to aim to exlclude or offend - BS. That's exactly what they want to do and know exactly how to do. And their claim to "merely to appeal and amuse a very specific audience", they contradict their claiming not to exclude or offend. They also use the words, "young", "hungry", "guys'. Their message, hungry for sex.
I wouldn't be surprized if these guys are secretly involved in much more horrific behaviors, supported financially on the backs of these girls falling for it. There is definitely more than what meets the eye here...
