Ensure that Ohio's Anti-Bullying Policies Include Protections for Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity

Ohio's anti-bullying laws do not protect all students! Current Ohio anti-bullying policies don't include protections for sexual orientation and gender identity, and studies show that more than 90 percent of lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender students in Ohio report being harassed — verbally, physically, or both. Sadly, Ohio's current anti-bullying policies are too generic to adequately protect the very students who are most at risk of bullying and harassment.

Let Rep. Stebelton know why this anti-bullying bill is so important for you, your friends, and your peers, and ask him to schedule a hearing for it. We need to provide the Ohio House Education Committee members the opportunity to hear proponent testimony, and allow members to have an understanding of the impacts of the bill on students, teachers, schools, and families.
